Trauma & Neurodivergent-Affirming Counselling Wiltshire, Near Frome and Online Across the UK.
Counselling for trauma and neurodivergence, working with both mind and body. For adults and teenagers (15+) experiencing anxiety, burnout, dissociation, overwhelm and the effects of trauma.
You may understand why you feel the way you do, but still feel stuck. If talking therapy hasn't helped enough, we can explore a different way of working.
You may notice that you:
-
overthink everything but can't switch off
-
shut down when life becomes too much
-
feel constantly on edge
-
people-please to stay safe
-
experience panic, overwhelm or emotional numbness
-
feel exhausted from masking or holding everything together
Trauma and neurodivergence can both shape how we experience the world through our minds and bodies. Counselling doesn't have to rely on talking alone.
I specialise in working with trauma and neurodivergence in my private counselling room in Chapmanslade, Wiltshire, close to Frome, Westbury, Warminster and Trowbridge. I also work online with clients across the UK.

Trauma counselling that works with your mind, body and nervous system.
You may understand why you feel anxious, overwhelmed or shut down, but still find that your body reacts before you can think. Trauma can affect your nervous system as well as your thoughts and emotions.
Alongside talking, I may use gentle grounding, awareness and body-based approaches informed by Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, somatic trauma therapy and polyvagal-informed practice. There is no pressure to relive experiences or explain everything before you feel ready.
Whether you're experiencing trauma, anxiety, burnout, dissociation, or you're autistic, ADHD or AuDHD, therapy is adapted to you rather than expecting you to fit a particular way of working.
What clients have shared:
“Emma creates such a calm and accepting space. I’ve never felt judged; it’s the first time I’ve been able to talk honestly about what’s going on inside.”
“I came to therapy feeling constantly on edge. Working with Emma has helped me understand my body’s responses and find ways to regulate myself.”
“Being neurodivergent, I’d struggled to find a therapist who really understood sensory overwhelm. Emma just gets it; she works at my pace and checks in, so I always feel in control.”
How I work:
My approach integrates trauma counselling, somatic therapy and neurodivergent-affirming practice, focusing on the connection between body, mind and nervous system. Sessions aren't about pushing for change or making you talk about things before you're ready. We work with what is happening for you now, at a pace that feels manageable.
I adapt the way we work to the person in front of me. That might mean talking, slowing things down and noticing what's happening in your body, working with overwhelm or shutdown, or simply having space to make sense of things without pressure.
