I’m Emma Ramarge, a trauma-trained counsellor and somatic practitioner on the Somerset-Wiltshire border, offering trauma and neuro-affirming counselling for teens aged 15 and above and adults who want to feel calmer, more connected, and more in control of their lives.

Many of the people I work with have experienced difficult or neglectful childhoods, emotionally volatile relationships, or ongoing anxiety that feels hard to shake. Some describe feeling stuck in a state of survival mode, always on alert, disconnected from themselves, or unsure of who they are beneath the coping strategies that once kept them safe.

My approach integrates Level 6 trauma training, Somatic Trauma Therapy, and Transactional Analysis, offering a balance of body-based awareness and relational understanding. Together, we work gently and at your pace to uncover how past experiences live on in the body, exploring new ways to restore safety, presence, and self-trust.

Clients often tell me that our sessions help them find words for things they’ve never been able to express, and that the calm, grounded space we create helps them begin to breathe differently, literally and emotionally. My role isn’t to fix you, but to walk beside you as you reconnect with your own capacity for healing.
About Me.
I work with adults and teenagers (15+) who are navigating emotional, relational, or developmental challenges such as anxiety, trauma, grief, and neurodivergent experiences. My work is trauma-trained, body-based, and rooted in compassion and collaboration.

I believe healing happens when we feel safe enough to explore our inner world at our own pace. In sessions, we may explore how past experiences persist in the body, how the nervous system responds to stress, and how we can gently create new patterns that foster greater calm, connection, and self-trust.

My role is to offer presence, curiosity, and attunement to help you reconnect with your innate capacity to heal because I’ve seen how trauma shows up in the body, in nervous-system responses, in neurodivergent clients who mask and collapse. I believe in working at your pace and with your body

Outside of the counselling room, I enjoy CrossFit and yoga, which deepens my appreciation for the mind-body connection and the ways we hold emotion physically. I also enjoy walking my dog in the fields surrounding Chapmanslade, listening to mindfulness on my headphones. That embodied understanding shapes my work: healing isn’t just about talking, it’s about learning to listen to what your whole system is communicating.
