Trauma Counselling Frome, Wiltshire and Somerset.

If you’re searching for trauma counselling in Frome, Westbury, Warminster, Wiltshire or Somerset, you may already know something doesn’t feel right, even if you can’t fully explain it.

You might feel stuck in survival mode, overwhelmed by your emotions, or disconnected from yourself and others.

I offer trauma counselling for adults and teens (15+) in Frome, Westbury, Warminster and across Wiltshire, supporting people who feel anxious, burnt out, shut down or unable to move forward.

Common reasons people come to trauma counselling

People I work with often experience:

  • Ongoing anxiety or panic

  • Feeling constantly on edge

  • Emotional overwhelm or shutdown

  • Dissociation or feeling numb

  • Difficulty in relationships

  • People-pleasing or losing a sense of self

  • Patterns that repeat despite trying to change them

You don’t need a single traumatic event for this work to help. Many people I see have experienced long-term stress, relational trauma or feeling unsupported over time.

A different approach to trauma counselling

If you’ve tried talking therapy and it hasn’t helped enough, you’re not alone.

Trauma is not just something we think about. It is something the body and nervous system hold.

My work focuses on helping you:

  • understand your nervous system

  • feel safer in your body

  • recognise patterns without overwhelm

  • build regulation and stability

  • begin to process experiences in a way that feels manageable

This is not about pushing or forcing change. It’s about working with your system rather than against it.

How trauma therapy works

In sessions, we slow things down and begin to notice how your system responds.

We focus first on building stability, so deeper work feels manageable rather than overwhelming.

There is no pressure to go into anything before you are ready.

Trauma and neurodivergence

I also support neurodivergent clients, including Autism, ADHD and OCD, where trauma and overwhelm can present differently.

You might:

  • mask your feelings

  • shut down quickly

  • feel misunderstood

  • struggle to put things into words

  •

We can work in a way that suits how your mind and body process and experience the world.
